Before Dreaming

OOC: It's way weird to be back in this board with ANOTHER Mistpaw... Is it weird that, in the mind-set of Mistpaw, I get a little depressed in a non-manly way because Jayleaf and Glaciercloud are dead?

IC: Mistpaw of DewClan walked into the familiar cavern, looking around at the massive stalactites and stalagmites.
Not too long ago - though it seems a lifetime away - Mistpaw had come to this place with Jayleaf. Medicine cats of other Clans had joined them, and as one they'd entered the realm of StarClan for dreaming.
Those times were over now. Glaciercloud had been felled. Jayleaf had succumbed to a nightmarish sickness. Silverfur's age had caught up with him. Mistpaw knew this since - well, those connected in such a familiar way always knew.
It seemed unlikely that there would ever be a real medicine cat meeting again. It just seemed impossible in these darkening days.
Mistpaw bowed her head in brief lament, but she would not let herself rest. She couldn't. There was too much to do.
I am no longer a child.
The she-cat stepped forward, lay down, and allowed a drop of frozen water to hit her on the forehead.

She dreamed.

Mistjay awoke, screaming in terror as she scrambled to her paws, turned, and fled the cavern. She cut her paws when she carelessly tread on the sharp rocks, slicing her legs and her face, but she payed no attention.
She needed to escape.
