The Journey Too Soon Taken

One moment she was sleeping, the other she's very awake. W-what? What is this place? Dovekit looked around. Mother? Where is mother? She began to run as fast as her legs will allow her. I'm not going anywhere! She glanced around franticly as starry cats appeared.

"Do not be afraid, little one," They whispered in unison.

Dovekit gasped as a pretty tortoiseshell she-cat walked forward. "Do I know you?" She asked, cocking her little head.

"Yes, Dovekit. I am Spottedleaf. You are in StarClan."

"StarClan? Really?" Now Dovekit noticed that things didn't look as scary. In fact, everything looked very peaceful. Serene. Perfect, even.

A very old cat appeared from nowhere, looking at the newcomer.

Dovekit looked at the cat curiously. "Who are you?"

"My name is Hawksong. I am Steelpelt's father." The tom wheezed. Even here, his age caught up to him.

"Steelpelt. Steelpelt. Who's Steelpelt?"

OOC: Still young, doesn't know anything...

"The cat who killed you." Hawksong mewed. "My own son, a murderer."

"Y-your son, k-killed me?"

OOC: Ah, naive Dovekit.

"Yes." the battered old tom mewed. "He fed you a small berry, I presume."

"I didn't know it was a berry. I just knew that it didn't taste bad..." Then she choked and spit something red out of her mouth. "Yuck!"

"Deathberry." Hawksong growled, as the same word was repeated all around him.

"Deathberry? So that how I died!" For the first time, Dovekit's eyes flashed in anger. "Why would any cat want to kill me?"

"Revenge." Out came the simple word, yet, it was deeper then any before it.

"For what? I was just born a few hours, and already have mortal enemies? I don't get it!"

" Let the kit rest, Hawksong, she had a troubling time joining starclan." a soft and soothing tone began. From the flutter of star scattered cats, a pure white cat emerged, her blue eyes glittering like the sun. " I'm sorry for your own loss. I am Flake, warrior of Coreclan," she began, padding closer to the kit. " Instead of explaining to her, we'll just simply show her."
With her tail, she softly pushed the small kit over to a small pool of water, she slowly dipped her paw into the water, and colors began to flow around until it formed the figure of Dovekit's mother, Skysoar, mourning over the kits small body.

Hawksong nodded, and padded away, fading into thick mist that appeared out of nowhere.

Dovekit didn't move as she stared at her weeping mother. "I-is there any way I can talk to her?" she asked softly, never taking her eyes off the mirage.

" In time young one" She responded, " when the moon rises again across the land, then you will have the chance. It's your choice"
Flake gazed at the kits fuzzy pelt, soothing her with her tail.

Dovekit murmured, “I wish I could have got to know my own mother better.”

Flake felt pity for Dovekit's death. In her perspective, being murdered so early in life is worse then protecting her leader. " Really, I understand how you feel, I joined Starclan before I could tell someone how I really felt about him." she let out a small sigh and tapped the water again, the figure now swarming together to the shape of Gentlekit. " That's your sister. She as well was injured in your death." She stopped to the thought if this was too much for the little ones mind.


OOC: Is it okay with you if Flake could watch over her in starclan? Like a queen does when helping with kits?

OOC: Like Dovekit's StarClan queen? I'm sure Skysoar wouldn't mind.

OOC: lets hope not, Before Flake died, she wanted a kit anyways... Dream come true!

IC:
Flake softly gave a long yawn, her gaping jaws opening slowly and retracting. " Sunrise is coming, And I'm not letting a kit like you stay up late" she softly picked up Dovekit by her scruff and padded into the formidable mist behind them. As they left, the small pool of water, it went back to it's former shape.

Dovekit looked back one more, and saw the small pile of red that she had spit out. It was now in the perfect shape of a heart...

OOC: AWWWW

Suddenly, a rose popped up from the middle of the heart...

OOC: okay I'll join in

IC: the rose wasn't red, but a beautiful silver. sadly it faded away, only remaining of a tear drop of the remaining memory of Dovekit.... R.I.P
