The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan Empty The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan

Post by Longstorm Mon May 14, 2012 6:33 am

A she-cat with a golden-colored pelt and dark spots padded alongside a star-spotted river. It was small, very unlike the rivers that had bordered her home back when she had been alive, back when her pelt knew the warmth of the real sun and her every breath was dedicated to protecting and defending her Clan...back before she even knew that StarClan had the strength to allow those who had been forgotten to move to their final and eternal rest.

The she-cat sighed heavily. How was she to know? How was she to know that, when she'd had the greatest of intentions and ambitions for her mighty Clan, that it would all fall into dust and blood?
The she-cat shivered at the word. Blood. Blood, what we thought bound all Clans, is what eventually tore us all apart...
The glossy, starry-pelted she-cat bowed her head. Even the stars in her pelt seemed to share her feelings, they dimming just a little more than they already were.

Yes. They already were dim.

If any were to look around this strange place - if they been alive back in the days of the mighty legend Tigerstar - they would know that the shadows casted by the trees and plants were longer and darker than they ever should have been, that the stars were darker, that some shivering shadows were not shadows at all, but the spirits of warriors who found their final rest to be nothing more than a kittish dream. And how they shivered!
StarClan, the mighty warrior ancestors, lived in fear!
They could not see their Clans properly, they could not speak to them properly, and they, O mighty StarClan, could not sleep within their own star-speckled borders in peace.

What? Only cause for mild concern? Really?
It has been this way for a near century - though time was irrelevant in StarClan.

If this she-cat, once a mighty leader, had never been told by her ancestors what was wrong, she would never have realized the full extent of the damage that had been done to them.

But it had been alright. For a while, at least.
"The Clans lived in peace as once Clan for a while," the she-cat mewed aloud, knowing she wasn't alone. "Then they divided into four, but they were still at peace, only needing Code and common sense to guide them...but that time is now over - isn't it, Featherstar?"
A dark blue-gray tom slid out of the reeds, feeling the fish-scented breeze push his long whiskers. Though he looked very different from the exotic she-cat before him, his pelt held the same gloss.
The former leader of RiverClan - and a direct ancestor of DewClan - dipped his head.
"Yes, Leopardstar," his voice was deep and ragged. "I'm afraid it is."
He joined the she-cat the edge of the river. "What is this place," he asked her quietly, looking around at the strange river, listening to sounds of strange, foreign birds.
Leopardstar scoffed. "This is the place RiverClan stayed for some moons after your death, believing that they were following our will for them to depart from the other three Clans in their journey..."
Featherstar frowned.
The she-cat continued. "It didn't end well."
The blue-gray tom nodded quietly.
Leopardstar looked out over the water. "Will the others be arriving soon?"
"Yes, Leopardstar...they were surprised to hear that you were calling a meeting."
Leopardstar snorted. "Indeed."

The two sat in silence after that, taking in the new yet familiar view.

Indeed, RiverClan had rested here for a time. Sadly, StarClan had been unable to warn them of a great threat that cost them the life of eight RiverClan cats, from kit to warrior.
As for meetings, they were rare and few these endless days. StarClan had many times before gathered together their oldest, wisest, and greatest, trying to devise a plot that would allow them to break whatever was keeping them away from the ears and minds of their beloved descendants.
Leopardstar had been one of the first to give up. Many choose to abandon StarClan's ranks to live in the Golden Fields, but returned running when they discovered that it was a place the abominations could roam more freely than StarClan's borders.

The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan Empty Re: The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan

Post by Loki Mon May 14, 2012 9:51 pm

OOC: slap me I'm about to fail redicuosly on this I'm on the iPad XD
IC:
Where the undergrowth thinned into an old track appeared a flamey pelt of ginger, starry fur. His body held with a tender sobriety that All but declared the loss he had received in his unstable time of life. Rarely did he come out for the failure that traced along the lines of defiance in his green eyes. He frowned toward leopardstar and graced her with a curt nod. Firestar, he who lived to give those who could; an escape route lest failed to keep his nine lives on that woeful day.

Behind him came a dull Sandy pelt, she too looked around in awe at the clearing that surrounded them before her eyes traveled to Leopardstar curiously, how long had it been since their las meeting. Who knows?

One of the newest additions also appeared from a different edge of the clearing, flanked by Tawneystar, her ounce dull pelt had become bright and the odd marking that crawled up her sandy legs were darker as if she had retraced a few years of life. Lokistar also held a gentle look on her face, taking note of every aspect that surrounded them: the dirt, the leaves, the rocks and the omnious shadows.

OOC: meh... I need to re-edit this.

The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan Empty Re: The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan

OOC: Don't feel too bad! I'm the one who is feeling bad...

IC:
A small figure flitted near the scene, its lithe body twisting this way and that as it jumped over the seemingly giant rocks and logs. An excited sparkle that could only come from youth nnow shone from its young owners eyes--ever so deepy brown, almost a dirt-brown. But no cat ever said that she was bad-looking, for who can one say that to a starry kit like herself?

Yet after a few happy heartbeats, she stopped. What if she wasn't invited? After all, she only heard of it from Spottedleaf, and who knows what kind of insult will she receive, going to a meeting she hardly even knows about?

The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan Empty Re: The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan

Leopardstar nodded curtly in return to the ginger tom. She nodded to Lokistar and Tawnystar as well, choosing not to speak to the descendants of mostly WindClan and ThunderClan. (OOC: Long legs, live in the thick woods; every Clan's a mix.)

A she-cat with sleek fur like Featherstar's and Leopardstar's entered the scene; Kigerstripe, a former medicine cat of DewClan, was a she-cat with strange stripes that ran down her back and up her tail as well as her sides. She mewed a friendly greeting to all present and sat with Featherstar.

Leopardstar looked at the she-cat curiously. "Where is DewStar?"

Kigerstripe looked at the former leader of RiverClan then looked away. "He has...since vanished into the Golden Fields...he mentioned a river."

Featherstar shifted his paws uncomfortably. "Our numbers grow thinner every time we do this."

"Of course," a rough voice snapped from the brush. "We don't stay in touch." A she-cat with a flat, gray face, amber eyes and yellowed broken teeth joined Firestar.
Yellowfang looked at the leader of DewClan. Her voice lost most of its edge and fell flat as she mewed, "We don't even try. We're just drifters now. Shadows."

"Fitting." A tom called Blackpaw stepped out of the shade, a former apprentice of ShadowClan who died before the four Clans became The Clan in the long journey. The tom's dark blue eyes glittered from his cover of thick, brown fur with an age that was beyond what his young physique would have most think.

OOC: Current line-up: Leopardstar, Featherstar, Firestar, Lokistar, TawnyStar - leaders. Kigerstripe, Yellowfang - medicine cats. And a kit and apprentice.
Be rooting for me, fellow Outcasts - my web series' first read-through is today (in about 10 hours-ish) and I need to finish revising the Pilot script! EEEEEAAAGH...and I haven't slept, so yeah, that's not in my favor...

The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan Empty Re: The Revelations and Lamentations of StarClan

Post by Longstorm Fri Dec 14, 2012 7:47 am

OOC: *sigh*

IC: Yellowfang looked around. "She-cat's intuition is telling me to tell all of you that we should get on with it."

Featherstar's head bowed, defeated. "There are so, so few of us..."

Leopardstar looked at the grizzled she-cat and nodded a tad more meek than she would have many years past.
"Indeed...Who knows best what is happening in the Clans below?" She looked to Firestar, a face some great part of her found too easy to hate. "Firestar?"

Blackpaw scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Like he can see better than you," he snorted.

Leopardstar turned her fierce glare to him, a shadow of her cold rage. "You will show respect, apprentice."

"You do not have the authority to command any of my Clan, Leopardstar," came a baritone snarl. A great tome with black paws appeared from the shadows of the reeds. This was Blackfoot, a great deputy of ShadowClan. "Blackpaw," he snapped his harsh voice to the apprentice. "You will not shame ShadowClan."
The muscular tom had been slain by BloodClan, later than the rest of the figure-heads of the Clans, and was more cold than most. Not that the fact that he had failed his leader and his Clan hadn't been weighing on his heart and mind and soul for decades, growing like a fungus in his chest.
But he wasn't letting it show. Not right now.

Featherstar looked pleased to see the large tom, glad to see another face.

Leopardstar bit back a sharp response and laid her hackles flat. "Greetings, Blackfoot," she mewed evenly. "What about you? Do you see anything deep with your Clans?"

Blackfoot, for all of his damaged pride, sighed and shook his head. "Not as of late..." He looked at the former DewClanner. "What about you? You're closer to them."
Kigerstripe looked surprised to be called on by the ShadowClan deputy. "Sometimes," she mewed in a surprisingly stronger voice, as the topic of conversation didn't focus on those who had abandoned them. "Only when those who truly believe send genuine prayers. And, of course, when leaders and medicine cats speak to us through the Moonfall for guidance or to gain their new nine lives."

Blackpaw had glowered at Leopardstar for a few moments, but was now paying close attention to the conversation with an intensity that would make any senior wish this tom had lived to become a warrior.
As Kigerstripe mentioned the Moonfall, his tail flicked nervously, his eyes darting aside.

"It's becoming harder to find older ancestors who are able to give lives alongside their descendants, to their descendants," Featherstar murmured, focusing on the faded grass under his paws. He looked up.

OOC: There may be more, but anyone can post, really.

OOC: Remember the site rules Rainy; completely indirect comments to the topic must be left for private messages, chatbox and the off-topic section.
IC:
Firestar briefly turned his head to reply to the she-cat, Leaopardstar, his defeated gaze quivered as he searched his mind. He opened his mouth to speak but found it snapping shut at the cold tone of the apprentice. He might have sneered, replied back with some witty banter or at least debated his own views on the terrible situation. But he didn't have it within himself.
So few...
Truthfully, the only thing he could think of was to let those cats sort themselves out. They had Moonclan now, numbers cannot matter if they had spirit, if they could have spirit.
"We can only but ward of those rogues with the little power we have."

Lokistar glanced at Firestar, she fancied herself a good analyzer of one's character. Here she saw someone unwilling? Defeated? Scared of repetition?
She knew the stories, they'd been passed down from generation to the next. She preferred to hear the one's where he was ;eft in favor, though it was passed around that he was a fool for that battle. She looked away, Starclan needed to find a way to regain some power but also some more control.
The she-cat looked down at her paws a deep, thoughtful glint in her blue eyes.
